The Swartz Creek Choirs

Seniors: Hope you’re enjoying your new found freedom. Please remember that we’re having rehearsal in my room from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday - Thursday. You must be present for at least two of the three rehearsals to sing at graduation. I’ve worked hard on the arrangement so I hope you’ll be there so you can sound great at your graduation. See you soon!

I know many people have been waiting for this (not to mention myself)! I just received confirmation that we will be able to have the Pop Concert at the High School this Thursday. The concert will be in the Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The house will open at 7:00 p.m. Call time for Freshmen (and all upper-classmen who don’t have their set-up and take-down points) to set up is 6:30 p.m. Call time for everybody else is 7:00 p.m. The concert should last at least an hour and a half so bring cushions! See you there!

Madrigals - be at Weekday’s Restaurant at 7:30 a.m. in formals. Bring your music to “Kiss the Girl” and “Hold on”. Here are the directions.

Chorale and Mads:  The concert this Saturday is at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Saginaw and Cook.  We need to be there at 8:45 a.m.  You will have to secure transportation to and from the morning rehearsals.  I am trying to secure a bus for the performance as the church parking lot is not big enough to hold all the cars for both students and the audience.  We will leave from the High School at 4:45 p.m.  Our schedule is as follows:
   
     8:45 a.m. - Arrive and Sign In
     9:00 a.m. - Introductions and Announcements
     9:15 a.m. - Clinic with Dr. David Rayl from MSU
    11:00 a.m. - Combined Rehearsal
    12:00 p.m. - Lunch (provided)

     5:15 p.m. - Call time for Concert
     7:00 p.m. - Concert

All Choirs:  Don’t forget about the Benefit Concert for Payton and Shyra afterwards at the Fieldhouse!
    

Deep sigh… Snow day… Again… You know, normally I would just love another day to spend with my family. Building snowmen, snow forts, having snowball fights, making snow angels, snow this, snow that. But not the DAY BEFORE DISTRICT S&E! Alright, here’s the plan for tomorrow: We’ll try to meet at the school at 1:00. If it’s open - great. If not, we’re going to try to go to Kylie’s church if that’s ok (permission pending at time of writing). We need a Plan B. Kylie’s church is unavailable tomorrow. Everything has to be done tomorrow. All books found and numbered. Music polished up. ALL WORDS MEMORIZED TO ALL SONGS! Look at it this way. We have a whole school day to get things the way we want them to be before Saturday. Let’s look at this as a GOOD thing. Please call everyone you can and let them know what’s going on. We need more Chorale Incantando members. Like all of them. If you can, please offer rides to some who can’t get to school on their own. Couple of other things to keep in mind as well. IF the festival is cancelled for Saturday, I’ll post a cancellation for tomorrow’s rehearsals. Check here before you head out to rehearse. Secondly, Lapeer is closed tomorrow as well. Who knows if Mr. Starr will be able to get in and get everything ready. We’ll see.

Madrigals and Incantando - We’ve got a place to rehearse tomorrow close to school. Kylie’s dad has allowed us to use First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. We’re planning on a 1:00 rehearsal. Bring any Solo books and music that you can. Please call any one you can and inform them about this rehearsal. We need this! Please be there!

Well we received our preliminary schedule for District S&E.  It takes place on February 9th at Lapeer East High School. 

This post is for Heather, Lizzy, and Megan. MVAD is ON for tomorrow. They were able to squeeze you three in! I have included the Schedule and Directions to get you there. I probably will not be there as my very first niece is going to be born tomorrow (Woo-hoo!), but, we’ll see. Have fun and let me know what you thought of it!

A couple of other items:
    MANY people have not paid for their choir shirts.  Please do so before break if at all possible!
    Incantando/Madrigal dresses are in and cost about $135.  I’ll have the final cost tonight.  The boosters have covered this expense up front and will need to be reimbursed either by cash or by money raised through fund-raising.
    Silent Auction ends tonight.  Everything must go and no bids have come through online.  There are some very cool items up for grabs!
